Preamble of the Indian Constitution

The Preamble is the soul of the Indian Constitution. Adopted on 26 Nov 1949, it outlines the core values and philosophy of the nation. It declares India as a Sovereign, Socialist, Secular, and Democratic Republic. The Preamble specifies the objectives of securing justice, liberty, equality for all citizens, and promoting fraternity to maintain the unity and integrity of the nation. It derives its authority from the people of India, as stated in its opening line: "WE, THE PEOPLE OF INDIA..."
